MARIO KART MADNESS!
In celebration of National Gaming Day, 4 area teens (grades 6-12) will have the opportunity to compete in a National Online Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament. To participate, come to The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County's Basement Meeting Room A/B at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 15, 2008. The event is planned to last until 4:30 P.M. You will also have the opportunity to play other games (both video and board) and to help set a world record for the greatest number of people playing a single board game in one day, by sitting in on a round of the board game Pitureka. All ages are invited to come and play games and help set the Pitureka record, but only teens will compete in the National Brawl Tournament.
In celebration of National Gaming Day, teens (grades 6-12) can compete for national high score awards in Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Dance Party for the Wii. Come to the Basement Meeting Room A/B at The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County at 2:00 to participate. The event will run until 4:30. You will also have the opportunity to play other games (both video and board) and to help set the world record for the largest number of people playing a single board game in one day by playing a round of the board game Pitureka.
From 9:00 a.m. - Noon four-man bands will compete in Rock Band 1 on Playstation 2 projected on a big screen! Prizes for the top 3 bands. Pre-registration is welcome by calling or e-mailing the library or by logging into this site and registering.
