In GT System, Seasons are made up of 1 or more series of tournaments. Here at AADL, we'll likely be doing all 3 Series in the 2008 season, but you don't need to do that to participate. Just one series will do… but the more the merrier!
This has always been the big one for us. Intended for players in grades 6-12, these are monthly 5-hour events, each consisting of 4 tournaments:
Each event can have its own small prizes, or you can have a prize round for winners of each event. You can also just choose do to one or two of the 4 events.
Super Smash Bros is still our #1 draw, and while AADL will be following the series to Wii this december, the series is still open to gamecube and Super Smash Bros Melee. Same goes for Mario Kart Double Dash and its just-announced Wii Sequel.
Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero are two of the hottest games going, and it doesn't hurt that it takes very little equipment to run a successful DDR or Guitar Hero tournament. GT System's Revolution Hero Series, intended for players of All Ages, brings monthly DDR and Guitar Hero events to your players where they can try to be the best in the room, then see how they stack up against players around the country!
Pokémon is bigger than ever, and hosting Pokémon tournaments at your library is an amazing way to connect with the tweens in your community and start growing your own rabid gamer fanbase! While the Pokémon world can be a daunting place, Pokémon events don't require a lot of equipment and can be straightforward… if you've got a system! Best of all, thanks to the robust online modes of popular Pokémon games, we'll be able to have online finals between libraries across the country!
