Hello! Welcome to gtsystem, and thanks for signing up for the National Gaming Day @ Your Library Rock Band High Score Contest! You should all have received a gtsystem site and login in the email recently. To participate in the NGD Rock Band High Score contest, you'll need to create a gtsystem event and enter your bands' score after each song. We'll use the score that the game gives at the end of each song. You are encouraged to require your players to sign up as a 4-player band with a creative name.

Here's how to create and score an event.

1. Log into your gtsystem site (at whateveryoursitecodeis.gtsystem.org) with your admin account and password. This is the account that was mailed to you when your gtsystem site was created.

2. Click 'Create Content' in the left menu, then 'GT Event'.

3. Enter a Title for your event and select the game you'll be playing. If you are running more than one tournament (say both DDR and Rock Band), create a separate event for each.

4. Choose 'National Gaming Day' from the Series dropdown and optionally choose a Conference from the Conference Dropdown.

5. Enter any promo text you'd like to use for an Event Description.

6. optionally choose or add a location for your event. This isn't required unless you have more than one location holding events.

7. Enter a start date and time and end date and time. This should be local time. Enter a maximum number of attendees. Registration open and close times are optional.

8. Click Save, or Preview then Save, and you're all set!

To run your event, log in with your admin account and click on your event, then click on the gt registrations tab to add Bands to your event.

Once all your Bands are signed in, click 'gt results' to be prompted to build your first bracket. For most Rock Band events, you'll want to have 1 player (Band) per station and 1 or 2 matches per band depending on how much time you have. After each match, enter the score that the band received, then click commit. You can revise the score later if needed.

To make an elimination round, choose 'build new bracket' under the event standings on the right side. Enter how many bands should advance, how many stations (probably 1), and how many matches per band (usually 1 for finals). It will build your finals bracket and you can score as you did before.

If this seems overwhelming to you, feel free to keep score in a spreadsheet or even on paper and send us your top scores after the event.

After everybody's scores are in, we will announce the top 10 bands and the top 10 libraries, plus you'll be able to view full leaderboards. Please let me know if you have any questions or run into any trouble, and good luck with your event!
